Our Final Trailer.

Our trailer starts with the green, audience certificate with all film trailers have, this reinforced our research of conventions of movie trailers. Our trailer then fades into our production company, this adds a touch of professionalism within our trailer and again meets the conventions. During this clip we have inserted our music, and this starts with a school bell reinforcing our location and movie genre. The music sequence then starts we a cheerful melody. Our trailer then cuts to a pan of one of the main characters walking through a school corridor with her name inserted as she winks, this was effective as it clearly showed her personality and introduced the character to the audience. If I was to film this shot again I would clear the rubbish on the floor as it makes the shot look messy and unprofessional.  We then added a clip showing more of this character by using an over the shoulder shot educating the audience of her grades, and a mid shot again stating her personality. Following this we decided to introduce our next main character called Eden, this was a long shot showing the character reading books near lockers, again showing the audience the stereotypical 'geek' character. We also inserted slow motion of 'Bad girl' Pushing her into the lockers, exaggerating this characters movement and adding humour. If I was to shoot this  clip again I would use a variety of shots as the audience may get restless watching from the same angle. Then the first piece of text appears, stating our genre and showing our narrative. Afterwards our group decided to proceed the geeky character into another clip to symbolise her personality, while text appears of her name educating the audience. We again used a slow motion effect in this shot to add humour.  I thought this shot was effective as it made me and our target audience laugh. This clip then links to the rest of the trailer by the text 'Until now.' After this our trailer ventures onto a sequence of short clips of each character reading out the 'Cursed poem' this sets up the narrative, while the clips are showing the audience that they are reading this poem out at the same time. We incorporated shakers within these clips to symbolise confusion and to build up to the climax of our trailer. I believe this was effective as the music added more excitement to these clips and stopped just before the 'bad girl' jess shuts her laptop and aggressively says whatever showing the characters gesture.

Our group then decided to add a transition to reinforce confusion. This transition faded into the characters waking up in the wrong beds. We inserted voice overs to educate the  audience in the storyline and to engage the audience, as these shots are quiet long. If I was to improve anything from this sequence I would improve on the voiceovers, as I believe they sound unprofessional and echoed. I would achieve a professional edge by either filming the voices in a small room, or use the voiceover tool on garage band. I would also consider the lighting of shots more as in one room the lighting was darker and the other lighter, this could either be a good or bad thing. A good point of the lighting would be the representation of the binary opposites we have created, but it may not be effective as the audience might interpret these shots at different times of the day. What I loved about this sequence was the music as we used a guitar but also incorporated the shakers again to convey confusion but still using the conventions of our genre of comedy. I also thought how the music stopped dead as the characters looked in the mirror and started screaming as it added exaggeration and really catches the viewers eye. This sequence ends with a split screen and a funny clip. I thought these were effective as the split screen showed both characters and conveyed the idea they did wake up at the same time, and they have actually swapped bodies, while the clip adds humour to the trailer and shows how the geek is now the bad girl.

Our group discussed how we would end our trailer. we decided to create a sequence showing the characters in the other bodies and how they become friends, with the names of the actresses. After the funny clip the music changes dramatically into a 'Cheerful mandolin' while more text stating 'This summer' is added. I believe this text has a slow started and If I could create this trailer again I would either create a larger duration of fade, or decrease the duration of the first letter clip. I love the fact we mirror the beginning of the trailer, but have swapped characters, as this shows the change while still linking with the trailer. I problem with this may be the viewer seeing a clip like this already and get bored wanting to see something new. After the sequence of a variety of shots and clips, our title appears. We used the same process for our title, from our other text within the trailer, although we did change it, to link with our ancillary texts. This is effective as it stands out from the rest of the trailer, and the audience an make a strong link while looking at our full promotional package.
