Conventions of comedy trailers
There are certain conventions, we need to consider if we want our trailer to convey the genre of comedy starting with;
- Using high angle shots to capture the whole environment around the character.
- editing sounds in after the filming to add or define humour.
- Using medium shots to capture the characters expressions.
- Lighting is often bright and shot during the day time.
- Bight colours are used within the title mostly primary colours.
- The characters are more exaggerated to add the 'slapstick' feel for the trailer.
Some themes of comedy include;
- Slapstick
- Romantic comedy's
- parody
- Gross-out
- screwball comedy
Within our trailer we will use;
- Medium shots to capture the characters expression.
- Exaggerated and stereotypical characters.
- Use our music to add more humour to parts of our trailer.
- Bright colours within out text and bold text.
- Our lighting should be bright as we intend to film during the day, and hopefully pick sunny days to film on.
