It's a boy girl thing.
This Film poster has inspired our final idea, one of the reasons we looked at this poster as the movie has a similar storyline to our own, 'two people swapping bodies.' We really liked the idea of the two high school students sitting on a bench showing there two personality's, as it's simple but extremely effective. The title is interesting as it includes different fonts, sizes and colours. I loves the idea of the word boy filled in with pink and girl filled in with blue as it implies the storyline really well, and this shows to there target audience. The words Boy and girl are bigger than 'It's a' and 'thing' as them words aren't as important as the girl and boy swap. The font on 'Boy girl' is much bolder due to them being the most significant words of the title. Above the title there is a review ' It's body-swapping brilliant' this promotes the poster to the viewer. The words 'body-swapping' are in blue to make it stand out, this again shows the movie synopsis to the audience. The colours within this movie poster are light and cheerful, this enhances the movie genre of fantasy/comedy, and the white background makes everything stand out and really engage the viewer. the billing board is very small so you can barely see it, as it's not the most important thing within the poster, this follows typical film poster conventions. This is not a teaser poster as it tells the viewer when the film is in cinemas, again the colour changes in 'December 26' as that is another important fact to promote the movie. Above the title there are the actors names 'Kevin Zengers' and 'Samaire Armstrong' these are well known actors within American telling me that the movie is American, having these actors within the poster and in the film will promote this film to American audiences. The picture is defiantly why I have picked this poster to inspire our final idea, I love the way how the clothes symbolise a typical girl, and a typical 'Jock' but the actors body postures contrast this dramatically. The picture also gives away the movie genre as it's funny and exaggerated. Only films such as rom coms, comedies and fantasy can use exaggerated poses and get away with it.
Angus thongs and perfect snogging
The most prominent thing within this film trailer is the picture of the protagonist 'Georgia' centred within the poster, as she is in the middle the viewer automatically knows that this film is centred on her character. In her pose she is looking up towards doodles, and pictures of other characters this reminds me that she is looking up towards her life and the things that effect it during the film. The doodles are really effective and shows the movie genre of 'chick flick' brilliantly. there is also a picture of Georgia's crush within the doodles, this again shows the movie genre. The title is quiet similar to ' it's a boy girl thing' as its in different sizes, the bolder words are what the promoter wants the audience see, there is also a kiss mark doodle in pink to contrast the title and to enhance the genre. Again the billing board is extremely small and a neutral colour, as the viewer needs to be attracted by other aspects within the poster. This poster inspired our group as we loved the doodles within it, and we thought we could incorporate some within our poster as we wanted a 'indie' feel towards our film. It would also show how our characters are within a secondary school and promote our movie genre of fantasy/comedy.
Silver linings playbook.
The most prominent aspect within this poster is the split screen pictures. Even though the pictures are black and white the characters stand out. I believe this is due to how close up the photos are. Another slight thing that I love is there different colour eyes, this connotes the idea how the characters has contrasting personality's. the split screen inspired our group within one of our first ideas, as it would be good for our storyline due to the fact of different personality's and social groups. Again the use of doodles has been used, this seems like a similar convention of 'angus thongs and perfect snogging' and our group fell in love with this idea. Even though the title doesn't stand out as much as the pictures, it is yellow which contrasts to the black background and stands out from all other colours. I have notices a pattern within film posters, that the titles varie the fonts and size of different words and make certain words stand out by adding a more bold text or a different colour. Within this poster the words 'silver linings' is bigger than 'playbook.
