During my groups previous discussions, that have been posted on my blog we have decided to have the target audience from 12 year olds to 25 year old girls. We came to that decision by contemplating our movie genre, our own age and gender, our available location and our idea.
We believe that this target audience will suit our movie genre the most as we carried out a questionnaire to a group of girls with a variety of ages between 12 and 25, to ask them what movies they see most at the cinema. These were our findings:
Our findings have shown to us that most girls between these ages prefer chick flicks, romantic comedies, comedies and fantasy. This is great for us as our film genre is comedy/fantasy. We all agreed on the target audience as it will be easy to produce our trailer to meet the needs of the audience as we are within this age range and know many girls of this age range and gender. Our most available location is our own school so producing a trailer at the school it a perfect and easy idea. A school is also a locations all girls of this age range can relate to or remember. This location also connects with us as a group because its one of the main locations we know. As we are producing a film about different social groups 'bad girls' and 'geeks' this is another relation to our audience as they can connect with a certain character they feel best suits them.
