Our initial idea of our Film poster.

1st idea draft of layout.
This is our first idea layout. We have been inspired by the film poster 'silver linings playbook' as we loves the idea of a split screen as it represents our chosen characters perfectly. Our first title of the film was 'stand up' because we wanted the 'Geek' to stand up for herself, but we thought this would be to hard to show within the trailer and didn't really make sense within our storyline of the two characters swapping bodies. This would be hard to show as it would be unprofessional to have to much talking and storyline within the trailer. We had chosen to incorporate a brick wall within our poster as it makes it have a 'indie' feel and shows how our characters are teenagers this is effective as we wanted our target audience to relate to our poster, as they can relate to school. We had a thought process of putting graffiti of boys and naughty things on the wall of the 'bad girl' and maths questions on the 'geeks side of the wall this would show the audience the characters and would link to the location of our film as well. The element I didn't like about this layout was the colour of of the title as it is harmonious to the brick so does not stand out as much as it should.

1st idea second layout.
Our second layout has pictures of the two characters within it, I believe this doesn't work as the do not look in proportion with each other, and you can tell the photo has been photo shopped . I also believe that they are bad quality photos due to the lighting of the room we took them in and the poor quality of camera this makes the poster look unprofessional at all. We have changed the name, due to our audience feedback, more girls between the ages of 12-25 believed that mix up explained the storyline better due to the 'mix up' of characters and was quirky and different. We chose this title while looking at movies that had a similar storyline to ours. We came across the film 'the change up' and I though of this title straight away. In this new layout we have incorporated a piece of lined paper to connote to the audience they are at school and we discussed how, instead of putting graffiti on the walls we would draw doodles scan them in the computer and photo shop them within the middle, again like the poster of the film 'silver linings playbook.' We decided not to go through with this design, as the pictures look unprofessional and through audience feedback we gained a insight that the poster was 'boring' and didn't represent the film or characters well.

Photoshop experiment.
This is one of our Photoshop experiments, due to our fails within our layouts. I believe this hasn't worked at all, while cutting the background off of the characters and the arrow we have either missed bits out or cut to much off, this makes the photos look unprofessional and unrealistic. I also believe that taking a photo on sight for our poster will look more dramatic and using natural lighting will make our poster look more professional by adding colour and shadow. Our group then decided we would only use photo shop for the doodles we will create and the title, other than that we will use a real image taken next to a brick wall.
